Dr. Twincy Varghese, completing her school education from Queen Mary’s English Medium UP School, Perumbavoor and Christhava Mahilalayam Girls’ Highschool Aluva, did her higher studies at Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor, Union Christian College Aluva, Maharajas College Ernakulam and St Joseph Training College Ernakulam.
Clearing NET in 2001 Dr. Twincy joined as an FIP Substitute Lecturer in the department of History U C College in 2003. In 2010 she was appointed a permanent faculty in the department.
Pursuing her interest in the political history of modern Kerala, she completed her research in the topic “Panampilly Govinda Menon: A Freedom Fighter and An administrator in Cochin State” and was awarded Ph. D from M G University Kottayam.
With her passion in training she got involved in the Central Government Tsunami Rehabilitation project for residents of coastal area and took training sessions for women in the coastal regions of Ernakulam and Alappuzha Districts.
Her area of interest other than the area of specialization spans to gender studies, career orientation and evangelizing.
Currently she is a member of the College Standing Council and also a member of Alwaye Settlement Association.
Born as the second child of TM Varghese and Saramma Varghese, Twincy Varghese with her spouse Mr. Anil V Oommen and two children now resides at Nedumbassery.
